Welcome aboard sv Nalu

Amel Super Maramu #120

We’re Martijn and Martine, two 50+ liveaboard Dutchies who want to find a better balance between working and adventuring.

Martijn is currently (land based) self-employed in the Maritime Maintenance & Repair sector.
Martine works remotely as a  professional WordPress assistant, webdesigner and AI trainer.

We’re both full-time liveaboards, and after ‘floating apart together’ for a few years we have recently sold both our boats and bought Nalu, so we can live, travel and adventure together.

Considering we’re not wealthy people and we need both incomes to keep our home afloat, we’ll be sailing and adventuring during the summer months and return home to the Netherlands to fatten the Cruising Kitty during the winter months.

Amel Super Maramu #120

She’s our floating home. She’ll keep us warm and dry in the winter and cool in the summer.

She’s our floating office, providing us with several work spaces so we can work while adventuring.

She’s the one who keeps us safe when Mother Nature shows us just how insignificant we are.

She’s an Amel Super Maramu, one of the most appreciated blue water sailboats.

Season 2025

Sailing Nalu home

We bought Nalu in June, 2024 in Greece. She was on the hard in Karlovasi, Samos, which is located right next to Turkey.

In 2025, we’ll bring Nalu home to the Netherlands. We plan to fly to Samos mid April and if all goes well, Nalu should be home mid July.

But remember – plans are written in the sand at low tide … Weather happens, stuff breaking happens, there be rudder-nibbling orca – which is one of the reasons we’ll sail via the Azores if we can.
